Welcome to the new Gothic Imagination website

Welcome to the relaunch of the Gothic Imagination website. We hope you like the new more modern layout, courtesy of our mega-talented web designer Andrew Wilson.

We continue with our News, Blog, and the Guest Blog, which gets off to a great start with Brigid Cherry of St Mary’s University College, London. Brigid just happens to have an office at St Mary’s that looks out over Horace Walpole’s Gothic castle, and her first post takes us from Strawberry Hill to the Surreal work of Czech artist and animator Jan Švankmajer.

We’ve introduced two new features. In Reviews, Matt Foley looks at Nicholas Royle’s Quilt (that’s the literary critic Nicholas Royle) and Liam Dodds considers Bret Easton Ellis’s Imperial Bedrooms. In Interviews, Aspasia Stephanou talks with Gail Carriger, author of The Parasol Protectorate Books, and Sharon Deans with Paula Morris, one of the new creative writers at the University of Stirling, and the author of Ruined and the forthcoming Dark Souls.

We do hope you’ll join in the conversation,  and look forward to hearing your comments on the various posts.
