Horror of London Film Season

Those of you who will be in London in early September will have the opportunity to attend a great season of films at the David Lean Cinema at Fairfield  focusing on the ‘Horror of London’. The website can be found here.  The event has been organised  by Dr. Ian Conrich, a Fellow in the Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre, at the University of Essex. In addition to the films, there will be various talks and introductions before the films. Special guests include Clive Bloom and Sara Stewart.  I’ve heard Ian Conrich talk about horror films before – he’s absolutely absorbing, so don’t miss it.

Starring Johnny Depp, Heather Graham and Ian Holm.
In Victorian Era London, a troubled clairvoyant police detective investigates the murders by Jack The Ripper.

Shaun of the Dead

Starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Kate Ashfield.
A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living.
