In what is hoped will be a unique and fascinating event several of the University of Stirling’s postgraduate researchers have teamed up with the charity “Epilepsy Scotland” in order to showcase their passion, interests and talents as they convey their lively and diverse critical explorations of the Gothic mode. On Saturday July 18th at The Playhouse, (hosted by the Macrobert Arts Centre), 11am-3pm,  a series of interactive talks, readings and workshops will be offered to the public in an imaginative exhibit highlighting how Gothic literary and cinematic concerns manifest outside of the academy. The showcase charts a range of scholarly interests ranging from Gothic interactions with the environment, to zombie sentience, and the history of medicine. The event is free for all who wish to attend, although a suggested minimum donation of £3 will be appreciated as all proceeds go to the charity. For more information please see our website at:

There is still time for any potential contributors to get involved with the event, and this is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate the impact and value of Gothic research as we relate our critical interests to broader accessible dialogues within local communities. Any interested parties should contact Ben at with the subject heading “Gothic Showcase”. For all other enquiries, please use the contact form via our website.
