Neil Bowen, Head of English at Wells Cathedral School, England, has recently set up a website called peripeteia, an online project designed to facilitate debate and the exchange of ideas for A-level students of English literature.   Though only recently established, membership of peripeteia is now around 200, with students and academics from Australia, Iran, Pakistan, Spain, the USA and all parts of the UK participating in the online discussions. We're delighted to announce that Dr Sue Chaplin of Leeds Metropolitan University, author of several influential books and articles on Gothic and Romantic-era writing, will be presenting a paper entitled "Blood Bonds and Brand Loyalties: Poppy Z Brite's Lost Souls and Alan Ball's True Blood" at the University of Stirling on Wednesday 16th November, 2011, in Pathfoot D2, at 4:00 pm.  All interested parties are welcome to attend.

Director Stuart Beattie will shortly begin the filming of I, Frankenstein, a retelling of Shelley's narrative in which the creature, here named Adam, finds himself in an apocalyptic, urban world of  warfare and strife.  The film will be shot in Melbourne, Australia, and will star Aaron Eckhart.  Full the full story, click here.
